Eric Jay Dufoe

October 5, 1956 – February 21, 2021

Eric Dufoe was born on October 5, 1956 at Lincoln General Hospital to Danny Lee Dufoe and Catherine Jean (Steiner) Dufoe. He graduated from Lyons High School in 1975 and attended Milford Trade School achieving an associate degree in building and construction which was his lifelong career.

Eric was a master of his trade. He loved his Vizsla dogs, raising three different ones through his lifetime. Other interests included fishing, hunting, golfing, reading and photography. His nieces and nephews were very special to him.

He passed away at Journey House in Lincoln on February, 21, 2021.

Eric was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother Catherine of Lincoln; his brother Michael and wife Donna of Malvern, Pennsylvania ; sister Deborah of Lincoln; brother Jeff and wife Darcie of Temecula, California; brother Brett of Lincoln; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and burial in Rose Hill Cemetery, Albion, Nebraska will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial can be made to the Capital Humane Society, Lincoln, Nebraska. www.capitalhumanesociety.org/ways-to-give/donate.html

Hulda Louise Anna Scheiding

Hulda (Vorderstrasse) Scheiding, 96, Wilber, Nebraska, met her Savior on February 21, 2021 at Wilber Care Center in Wilber, Nebraska.  She was born on on August 22, 1924 to Casper and Louise (Pittnauer) Vorderstrasse at Plymouth, Nebraska, the 4th of 8 children.

Hulda attended District 17 country school and Peace Lutheran Church at Plymouth.  Household and farm chores filled her early life.  As a young lady, her passion for nurturing led to caring for new families and continued all her life anytime a child was near.

Hulda married Harvey Scheiding on October 30, 1949 at Plymouth.  Two daughters blessed their marriage, Sandra and Debra.

Their life together, spent in Blue Hill, NE, centered around church life at Trinity Lutheran, active in Altar and Flower Committees and Ladies Aid, and business life owning and operating Scheidings Appliance.  As a homemaker, Hulda loved cooking, baking, sewing and quilting.  Garden produce made for bountiful canning.  They both enjoyed weekly bowling leagues.  Harvey preceded her in death in 2008.

Hulda’s love of God, and faith in which she lived, was her foundation, supporting her in final years as health diminished her abilities.  Her years at Care Centers in Blue Hill and Wilber were blessed by caring staff.   She was enriched by her faith, the faith in which she lived, the faith in which she died, and finally the faith in her triumph over death.

Preceded in death by her parents; husband Harvey; son-in-law Kent Klatt; sister Alvina (Bill) Holz, brothers Carl (Milda) Vorderstrasse, Erwin(Doris), Elmer (Donella, Dee, Doris), Herbert, and Freddie; brothers-in-law Clarence (Dorothy) Scheiding, LaVern Scheiding, and Delbert Yost; sister-in-law Irene (Hank) Vogelpohl; niece, 4 nephews and a great nephew.

Survivors include daughters Sandra (Jack) Egge, Kansas City,  Missouri, and Debra Klatt, York, Nebraska; sister Leoda Yost, Crete, Nebraska; sisters-in-law Elizabeth Scheiding, Grand Island, Nebraska, Lois Vorderstrasse, Seward, Nebraska, Joan Vorderstrasse, Fairbury, Nebraska; grandchildren and great grandchildren  Stephanie (JD) Ford, Lan and Ava, Rapid City, South Dakota, Karrie (Adam) Strough, Ellie, Corbin, Ryker, all of Kansas City, Missouri,  Jessica (Paul) Woolever, Keaton and Gabriel, Rapid City, South Dakota, David (Kim) Egge, Trace, Kassidy, Berkley, Crete, Nebraska, Matthew (Jaimie) Egge,  Brayden, Addyson, Lincoln,  Nathan Egge (Julia Tepley),  Tampa, Florida; many nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on April 17, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill, Nebraska.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for future designation to church and charities. Checks can be made out to Sandra and mailed in care of her to Aspen Cremation Service, 4822 Cleveland Ave., Lincoln, NE 68504.
