Rosemary Teresa Morrison

Rosemary Morrison passed away on the evening of June 3rd, 2022. She passed surrounded by family and in the home that her and her husband Steve Morrison put many hours of love into.

Rosemary was a natural cook and caretaker to Bonnie and many others. Her kitchen often became the site of food experimentation, where her grandchildren took her runza recipe and ran wild with it. Frequently given the title “saint,” many flowed in and out of her home as readily as she showed them unwavering generosity and adoration. She loved deeply and exhausted all means necessary to care for those around her. A room always seemed more full with her in it.

As early as she was able to stir up trouble, Rosemary was as tough as nails. She had been quoted regularly saying “if the dog bites you, well you better bite it back.” She drove fast, turned back schoolhouse clocks, and in a leather jacket, you could mistake her easily for Joan Jett.

Rosemary was an extraordinary artist. She covered four walls in her basement with cartoon drawings, created beautiful quilts inspired by children’s books, and taught her children and their children how to create. She was quick to create a gallery wall of all the doodles her grandkids demanded to be adorned in a frame.

Rosemary loved to relax on her swing, spoil dogs, and arguably spoil her family even more. She will be remembered as the person you could always go to, a calm and constant presence, and one funny lady. Her compassion, words of wisdom, and attitude toward life will not be lost on future generations.

She is survived by husband Steve Morrison; children Tim (Shawn) Morrison and Gretchen (TJ) Jolliffe; grandchildren Hayden, Erek, Hannah, and Emma Morrison and Jereth and Jack Jones; sisters Joan Cappuccio, Barbara Curfman, Kathleen Wells, Susan (Greg) Bischof; and many nieces and nephews. Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents Louis and Elizabeth Whitnney; her sisters Mary Shanahan and Patty Bartels; her brothers Jim, Warren, Tom, and Phillip Whitney; and grandson Avery Jones.
