Paul Eugene Hanks

Paul Eugene Hanks, 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 25, at Eastmont in Lincoln. Paul was born in Onawa, Iowa to Miles Hanks and Blanche Wood. After graduating high school, Paul joined the Navy. He met his first wife, Carol Ochsner and they had three children: Kathie, Cindy, and Michael.

After the Navy, Paul graduated from Wayne State College and taught Social Studies and History at Madison High for several years. After over 20 years, Paul and Carol divorced and Paul married Carol June Kurpgeweit of Stanton, Nebraska and eventually they moved to Buffalo, Missouri. When they divorced, he moved to Lincoln, Nebraska to be closer to his daughter, Cindy.

Paul was very active as a Boy Scout leader in Japan while serving in the Navy. He also loved fishing and camping. He was a Veteran, serving 18 years between the Navy and the Army National Guard.

Paul is survived by:Daughter Kathie Jump; grandchildren Tyler (Sydney) Hanks and Bradley Jump; great grandchildren. Braden Hanks and Paisley Hanks all of Springfield, Missouri. Daughter CPT Cindy (Brian) Mefford (retired); grandsons Nick and Michael of Gretna, Nebraska. Son Michael of Pennsylvania and granddaughter, Allie LeVeille of Massachusetts.

Preceding him in death were his parents, and brothers: Marvin, Robert and Duane.

Leroy Benjamin Disney

LeRoy Benjamin Disney was born on November 8th, 1944. He was the ninth child born to Ben and Marjorie Disney. He grew up around the Steele City and Carleton area and was a graduate of Hebron High School. After graduation, LeRoy served in the National Guard, he was always very patriotic and loved his country.

On April 22nd of 1967 he married Judy Strain of Alexandria. To that union was born 2 sons, Bradley James and Andrew Charles.

LeRoy worked for several years running the marina at Capital Beach in Lincoln. In 1986 the family moved to Sterling, Colorado where LeRoy worked at North Sterling Marina. Later they moved to Denver where LeRoy helped open a satellite store and was employed there for many years.

LeRoy and Judy moved back to Alexandria, Nebraska. LeRoy enjoyed his retirement there for several years.

In 2015 LeRoy and Judy decided to move back to Longmont, Colorado to be closer to their family.

LeRoy loved his cars, boats, fishing and hunting. The family enjoyed many camping trips to nearby lakes and also the mountains.

In the fall of 2021, a trip to Alaska was enjoyed by LeRoy, Judy, Brad, Andy and brother-in-law Tom Strain. It was a fantastic trip fishing and fun and the memories will be cherished forever.

LeRoy was called to heaven on June 23rd, 2022. He was survived by his wife Judy, his son Brad and wife Jasmin and their children Kaleb and Kendra. His other son Andy and wife Vikki and their children Corey, Trevor and Gage. Brother Don and his wife Dolly of Carlton, sister Arlene Smith of Dewitt and brother Ron and wife Linda of Grand Island.

LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mabel and brothers Norman, Brad, Lyle and Bill.

LeRoy loved his family and will be missed by them and many friends and extended family.

Lawrence “Larry” Gubbels born on June 21st 1942 passed away at the age of 80 on June 23rd 2022. Larry was preceded in death by his father Leonard Gubbels and mother Ellen Gubbels. Larry is survived by son James Gubbels, Daughter in-law Brenda Gubbels, Grandsons Austin Gubbels and Kaden Gubbels. Brother Gail(Neta) Gubbels. Nieces Tracy White, Kari Miller and Sara Hoffman.
