Carolyn Jule Lepa, 66 Years of age, passed away on Friday, November 11, 2022 in Lincoln, Nebraska.  This concluded her battle with Alzheimer’s.

Carolyn was born August 10, 1956 in Cresco, Iowa to Thomas and Florence Barnes.  She was the youngest of three, one brother preceded her in death. Carolyn was educated in the Howard-Winneshiek Community School District in Cresco, Iowa.

Carolyn married the loving Larry D. Lepa on September 2, 1982 in Lincoln, Nebraska and two children were born from this union.  Carolyn devoted her life to her family and stayed home with the children while keeping busy with volunteer work until they were school age.  Carolyn was then employed by LPS Food Services for nearly a decade, which allowed her to continue to focus on family.  In 1999 a career with UNL Dining Services began.   After eighteen years of service, she began her retirement.

Carolyn loved to spend her time with family and friends.  She was a friend to everyone she met and always had a smile and contagious laugh that lit up the room.  You could always count on Carolyn for a hug and some kind words.  She was a die-hard Husker fan who loved to cheer for her team.  On football game days you would find her either at the stadium cheering or at home watching the game (with the TV muted and the radio on!).  She had a love for reading, sports, trees, snowy weather, nature, and animals, especially big dogs and horses.  Carolyn also enjoyed canoeing the Upper Iowa river whenever she had the chance.  Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, and friend always thinking of everyone else.

Carolyn leaves behind her faithful husband of forty years, Larry D. Lepa; her children Cari (Michael) Frerichs, Ryan Lepa; four grandchildren, Tavin, Adelie, Caiden, and Breccan; and her brother David (Laurie) Barnes.

Bradley J. Luethke

Bradley J Luethke (51) passed away peacefully October 5, 2022, after unforeseen complications due to the treatment of cancer.

Brad was a hard worker and loved working on anything electrical or mechanical. He was gifted with fixing vehicles and finding creative or unusual solutions. He also loved tinkering with computers and had built many over the years.

Brad loved the outdoors as well; you could hardly catch him inside. He especially enjoyed fishing and even bought a boat and fixed it up so that he could spend more time on the water. Sometimes even all night long! As much as he loved hunting, he didn’t have much time the last few years, and camping with the family every summer/fall was a nice replacement.

Brad was ready and able to help others out. Countless times he helped individuals with vehicle issues, getting them back on the road. Many times, there would be garbage trucks parked in the alley as he troubleshot some issue they were having while the haulers had been running their routes. Brad loved life and fully lived it. He will be greatly missed by many.

Brad is survived by his wife Cathey, parents Elden and Donna (Broz) Luethke, daughters Shayna and Jenna Marschman (Michele Marschman), sons Braeden and Edwin Vollmer (Cathey Luethke), stepsons Austin Dean and Cameron Vollmer (Cathey Luethke), brother Brandon (Susan) Luethke, and nieces Brittney and Briley Luethke.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, October 12th, 2022 from 11:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m. at Elliott Equipment; 1245 Dawes Avenue in Lincoln NE.
