“Chuck” Charles R. Dreesen
Charles “Chuck” Richard Dreesen September 2, 1944 – July 26, 2022 Chuck was born to Gertrude and Arthur Dreesen in Norfolk, Nebraska . He is survived by his wife Janet, brother Bob Dreesen (Janelle), nephews Scott Dreesen , daughter, Cami Evans, brother-in-law Ronald Volyes, and nephews Aaron and Mike Voyles. He was preceded in death by father Arthur, twin sister Charlote “Sue” Volyes and Mother Gertrude (Fuhrmann) Dreesen. Chuck’s major was in the printing trade, owning his own business in Norfolk and later as supervisor of the University of Nebraska printing department. He had many interests, among them woodworking, music, animals (especially dogs) and gave many volunteer hours to a local pet rescue group and to his church. Great pride was taken in his yard, his automobiles, and his collection of model Classic Cars. He made friends easily and would drop everything to help someone in need. There were many serious and painful health issues which he faced with grace and optimism. His smile, his good – humored approach to life, his commitment to God and his religion defined him and will remain in our hearts. There is a new star lighting up the night sky since he left us. He is reunited with his loved ones, singing in his bass voice, and joking with the angels., Rest well dear Chuck. You are loved always! No service information at this time. Leroy Benjamin Disney
LeRoy Benjamin Disney was born on November 8th, 1944. He was the ninth child born to Ben and Marjorie Disney. He grew up around the Steele City and Carleton area and was a graduate of Hebron High School. After graduation, LeRoy served in the National Guard, he was always very patriotic and loved his country. On April 22nd of 1967 he married Judy Strain of Alexandria. To that union was born 2 sons, Bradley James and Andrew Charles. LeRoy worked for several years running the marina at Capital Beach in Lincoln. In 1986 the family moved to Sterling, Colorado where LeRoy worked at North Sterling Marina. Later they moved to Denver where LeRoy helped open a satellite store and was employed there for many years. LeRoy and Judy moved back to Alexandria, Nebraska. LeRoy enjoyed his retirement there for several years. In 2015 LeRoy and Judy decided to move back to Longmont, Colorado to be closer to their family. LeRoy loved his cars, boats, fishing and hunting. The family enjoyed many camping trips to nearby lakes and also the mountains. In the fall of 2021, a trip to Alaska was enjoyed by LeRoy, Judy, Brad, Andy and brother-in-law Tom Strain. It was a fantastic trip fishing and fun and the memories will be cherished forever. LeRoy was called to heaven on June 23rd, 2022. He was survived by his wife Judy, his son Brad and wife Jasmin and their children Kaleb and Kendra. His other son Andy and wife Vikki and their children Corey, Trevor and Gage. Brother Don and his wife Dolly of Carlton, sister Arlene Smith of Dewitt and brother Ron and wife Linda of Grand Island. LeRoy was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Mabel and brothers Norman, Brad, Lyle and Bill. LeRoy loved his family and will be missed by them and many friends and extended family. Janet M. Day
Janet Maxine Day (Beachler) of Lincoln, passed from this world on Sunday (2/20/2022). She was 90 years old, born 6/13/1931 in Chicago, Illinois. Janet was a genuine trailblazer her entire life. She was the first female Animal Husbandry Major at the University of Nebraska, a member of the Block and Bridle Club, an active member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, and she also established the Janet Beachler Scholarship Fund to help students In Veterinary Medicine to follow in her footsteps. She was preceded in death by both her parents (Everett and Maxine Beachler) and her husband of 56 years, retired Air Force Major Jay Hamilton Day (10/24/2008). She is survived by her children; John Day of Lincoln; Jeffery Day and his wife Lyndi of Charlotte, NC; Jayne Day of Madera CA; Joanne Day of Austin, TX, Julie Day-Tsou and her husband Marc Tsou of Chesapeake, VA; Jason Day of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; countless “adopted” kids including very special family friend Barbara Frank. Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral and Celebration of Life Will on Saturday 3/26/2022 2:00pm at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Lincoln.
