Thomas J. Woodward lll
Thomas J Woodward III, 83, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on March 22, 2025. Born on October 15, 1941 in Seward, NE, he was a devoted husband to his “Sweet Lorraine” and a loving father to his three daughters: Melissa, Jennifer and Pam.
He joined the US Navy in 1959 at the age of 17 and was honorably discharged in 1962. He spent many years working as an electronics technician servicing cash registers where he knew his customers by name.
Tom loved ice cream and cookies, and his positive influence touched many lives with his uplifting “It’s All Good” saying. He also cherished sharing his passion for music, introducing his daughters and grandchildren to the sounds of Merle Haggard, Barbra Streisand, Adele, the Beach Boys, and more. Each grandchild holds a cherished story and favorite memory of those musical moments with him.
Tom had a deep love for the outdoors, spending countless hours in his yard and garage tinkering with cars and other hobbies. However, his greatest joy came from his family. He eagerly anticipated family trips to Branson, where he was known for bringing the biggest fishing pole and shark hook, only to catch the smallest fish. He was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandpa, friend, and coach.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine; daughters Melissa (Rod) Mangel, Jennifer Baumann, Pam (Dj) Vokolek; grandchildren Dylan (Sheyenne) Mangel, Dane (Reileigh) Mangel, Lynlee Baumann (Dane), Elise Baumann (Nicole), Travis (Ann) Vokolek, Leah Vokolek (Cole); great grandchildren Bannack, Thayer, and Merritt Mangel; siblings Rick (Lisa) Woodward, Shirlene Gaskill, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents Esther Kroon (John), and Thomas Woodward Jr.
A Celebration of Life will be held with the family on April 4, in Lincoln, NE. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made out to the Tabitha Foundation, which provided unbelievable care to Tom during his final days at the Journey House.
We find comfort in knowing that Dad’s legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Betty and I sends our sincere condolences for Tom’s family. Tom and I were classmates. Tom and I both served in the United States Navy and honorably discharged in 1962. Unfortunately we are not able to attend Tom’s Celebration of Life as we will be visiting family and friends in Texas and Alabama
