Thomas Doggett
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tom Doggett on January 14, 2025, at the age of 66 surrounded by the love and support of his wife and family. Tom fought bravely against his cancer, defying the odds for as long as he could, but despite all of our love and his strength, the illness could not be overcome.
Thomas Eugene Doggett was born July 10, 1958, in Lincoln, Nebraska. He attended Cathedral of the Risen Christ Elementary School and Lincoln Pius X High School. Tom was inducted to the Lincoln Pius X Athletics Hall of Fame on August 5, 2023, for his outstanding accolades in football, baseball and basketball. After high school, he attended the University of Nebraska and a member of the football team until injuries shortened his career. He graduated from the University of Nebraska with a Bachlors degree in Business.
Tom was a very successful businessman starting off his career as a Runza restaurant franchisee in Omaha. In 2009 to present, he worked at Lincoln Trucking as a warehouse supervisor.
Tom loved to travel and all sports and was well-known to play a round or two of golf. His greatest love though was his family. The efforts of the previous two years were definitely outweighed by the loving joy he received from his two granddaughters.
Tom is survived by his wife Karin Fusco-Doggett, son Taylor and daughter-in-law, Siara, daughter Jenna Doggett and son Sammy Doggett, stepsons Gage and Avery Peake,
granddaughters Brynlee and Brooklyn Doggett, daughter’s of Taylor and Siara, mother Karlene Doggett, brother Larry Doggett, sister Monique Dogget and proceeded in death by his father Larry Doggett.
Celebration of life is to take place on January 26, 2025, at Water’s Edge at the Woodlands Clubhouse, 8801 Mohave Dr., Lincoln, NE 68516, from 2-5 p.m.

Even though I’d never seen him since I left Nebraska more than 40-years ago, the news of Tom’s passing has shaken me. He was a terrific athlete then and he still looked fit and lively in his Hall of Fame photos from last year.

Tom Doggett is my “superstar” first cousin. We grew up together and to say that Tom set a good example for our family, would be an understatement. A gracious gentleman, astute and helpful, a person of few words but many accomplishments, a loyal friend and top notch cousin. Sending my love and prayers to the entire family. We will all miss him dearly.

To Karin and everyone in the Doggett family, my sincere condolences for your loss. I know you are all hurting as I am. Tom was my first real friend in high school as I transferred to Pius X my freshman year. I really didn’t know anyone well until spring baseball that year. Tom and I hit it off for whatever reason. I admired him for his athletic ability, his calmness and intelligence. I will miss him.
Tom was my neighbor, he was a “back door neighbor”, the best kind.
I used to enjoy chatting with him out back on the patio while he was grilling or watching sports on TV, he was always friendly and fun to talk to.
I will very much miss seeing him, his time with us was much too short.

Tommy was for sure one of a kind. He will be remembered and missed for ever by the many friends he had.
Sorry to hear of Tom”s passing-first meant him as a student at Pius and the later when he came into Kep Harding’s Sport Shop and then at Runza. Our sons are now friends and that makes it very special
