Thelma Irene Philippi
Thelma Irene Philippi, 81, of Lincoln passed away on May 13, 2019. Born June 5, 1937 in Page, NE to Harold and Edith Summers. Thelma grew up on a farm near O’Neill, NE and taught in a one room school house at age 17 after recieving a teaching certificate from Wayne State College. She also taught piano lessons. Unfortunately her teaching career was cut short after a car accident on the way home from school that left her in a coma for one month, and a year long recovery re-learning to walk and talk. Thelma moved to Lincoln and attended Lincoln School of Commerce and married Albert Philippi on her birthday in 1960.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband Albert, parents, step-mother Lillian and brother Charles Hovey.
Survived by daughter Gale (Harry) Foreman, son Jeffrey Philippi of Lincoln. Grandchildren Travis (Amanda) Foreman, Lori (Patrick) Loder, Ranae Foreman, all of Lincoln, Joseph Foreman of Albuquerque, NM. Great grandchildren James and Jeremy Foreman. Brother George (Patty) Summers. Sisters Joyce (Lowell) Hunter, Leona (Bruce) Mclead.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed!
