Terrance “Terry” Masters
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Terrance “Terry” Masters at the age of 73. Terry passed away peacefully at his home on January 13, 2024.
Terry is survived by his devoted wife, Teresa Hampton, their two sons, John Masters and Jeremy (Hannah) Masters, and daughter Jordan Masters. Terry was also a loving grandfather to John Masters-Alvarez Jr., Ajani Masters, and Remy Booker. Terry is also survived by his mother, Eva Nollette, his sisters, Deanna (Greg) Teaford, Lyreva (Neal) Clark, and his brothers Richard (Cathe) Masters and George (Candy) Nollette. Terry was preceded in death by his sister Melissa Brenneman, step-father Thomas Nollette, and father Leo Masters.
Terry found joy in the simple pleasures. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for camping and fishing, where he created countless memories with family and friends. Terry’s culinary skills were legendary, as he enjoyed cooking and sharing delicious meals with those he held dear. A green thumb and avid gardener, he found solace in nurturing and tending to his garden, a reflection of his nurturing spirit.
Terry dedicated over 30 years of service to the Nebraska Department of Roads. His commitment and hard work contributed significantly to the betterment of the community.
His impact also reached the younger generation through his participation in the Boy Scouts of America. Terry served as a leader in Troop 44, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many scouts he mentored and guided toward becoming responsible, compassionate individuals.
As we remember Terry, let us celebrate a life well-lived—a life filled with love, laughter, and a genuine connection to others. In honoring his memory, let us continue to embrace the values of family, community, and the simple joys that Terry so deeply cherished.
The family will hold a public service to celebrate Terry’s life at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church (1420 K St, Lincoln) Friday, January 26th at 9:30am. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Scouts BSA in Terry’s name, continuing his legacy of mentorship and community service.
May Terry Masters rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
