“Sandy” Sandra Thompson
Sandra Christine Thompson, born on February 28th, 1947 in Bradford On Avon, England, passed away at 75 years old on Monday, December 19th, 2022. Sandy is survived by her husband, Charles Thompson, whom she was married to for 58 years, and their six children: Mark Thompson and wife Melinda, Lara Collins and husband Chris, Paul Thompson and wife Nici, Shaun Thompson and wife Tiffany, Christopher Thompson and wife Jamie, and Meghan Carlstedt and husband John. She is also survived by her brother Keith Adams and wife Ann, sister Linda Coles and husband John, sister Yvonne Brindle and husband Paul, as well as her 22 grandchildren. She is predeceased in death by her sister Ruth Adams.
Sandy unconditionally loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and her many dogs. She was the true and utter meaning of the words Mom and Nana. The care she gave towards everyone in her life was like no other. Even when she was not feeling well or in pain, the display of courage and support never ceased. She always knew when people needed her; whether it be to listen, to cry on, to hug, or even to give a kick in the rear. We are proud to be part of her British roots and history. That part of her life will continue to be special to all of us. Sandy was our family’s keystone and her legacy will remain in the lives she has touched. She was everything you needed her to be, exactly when you needed it. There will never be enough words to describe her, enough ways to say goodbye, or enough thanks to give; for she gave everyone in her life her all. Sandy will live on in our memories as Mom, spouse, sister, friend, and Nana, but most importantly as the embodiment of love. She gifted us a light and we will continue to let it shine both in our hearts and our minds.
The funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday December 23rd at St. Peter Catholic Church, 4500 Duxhall Dr, Lincoln, NE 68516.
