Roxana Luise Duncan
Roxana Luise (Jedele) Duncan was born October 14, 1937, to Charles and Frieda Jedele at their home in Denison, Iowa. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church and received her elementary education at Zion School. She graduated from Denison High School with the class of 1955.
After graduation, Roxana moved to Ames, Iowa, to work as a secretary at Iowa State University. In December of that year, she married her high school sweetheart, Chuck Duncan. To this union 6 children were born.
Children were the focus of her life, her own and the many other children that she cared for in her home daycare for 27 years.
Always being active in her church brought her much joy. If you knew her, you knew fabric was always a big part of her life, sewing garments, home decor, and quilting.
In retirement, after 37 years in Lincoln, Nebraska, she and Chuck moved back to Denison, where they spent 15 years until Chuck’s death in 2019. During the summers they lived on Deer Lake in Minnesota where they were blessed to have kids, grandkids, and now great grandkids spend time with them.
Preceding Roxana in death: her husband, daughter Amy (in infancy), and 5 siblings.
Left to remember her are her son, Greg (Karen), daughters Jeanne (Bart) Scott, Susan (Kurt) Robak, Jill Duncan, all of Lincoln and Julie (Scott) Babb of Nampa, Idaho, and brother Charles of Wichita, Kansas. Eleven grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Condolences for Roxana Luise Duncan
We express our condolences to the Duncan family and those lucky enough to have Rox as a friend. She was always smiling and happiest with a baby in her arms. We will miss her.
With love, The Colorado Luecks
Rox was not only my dear friend and neighbor for 15 years, but she faithfully cared for my two children Dave and Barb for the formative early years of their lives. She was a wonderful influence on all of us, and we are so grateful to have known her for all these years. I began quilting because of her skillful example. I will miss her tremendously.
I knew Roxanna through Common Threads. She was a lovely, kind & helpful person–a servant. She will be missed. May knowing that she is in heaven with her Savior bring her family & all who knew her, comfort, peace & joy.

I’m so sad to hear of the passing of Roxann. I have so many memories of the days that I would spend at daycare with her. My kids were able to meet her when we came back for our youngest’s baptism this spring. It was so fun for me to introduce them to her. She was beloved by the Frazers and will miss her!!
