Roger W. Anderson

featured image

Roger W. Anderson passed away unexpectedly on the afternoon of September 5th.

Roger was born in Omaha Nebraska. He attended North high school where he was on the swim team and he broke multiple school records. Roger also played as a tackle on the north high football team and went on to play at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Roger married his high school sweetheart Linda Louise Depoyster (1950- 2020) on December 20th 1969. They started their family in Omaha and moved to Lincoln in 1980 where they lived together with their two children Tara and Donald. They were married 50 years and his love for her continued on till his passing.

Roger loved movies, camping in Oregon with Linda, dessert, their dog Myrtle, swimming, sharing his opinion 😃,  and talking about football. Roger was a member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he was baptized 1975. He had a strong faith in the scriptures and Jehovah’s promise to restore the earth to paradise conditions (Psalms 37:28,29).  His faith in the resurrection hope removed any fears of death (Revelation 21:3,4). He was greatly loved by his friends and family.

Roger and Linda are survived by their daughter Tara Blow and her husband Greg, son Donald Anderson and his wife Theresa. They had 5 grandchildren, Kate Kucera and her husband Jared, Mady Blow-Huen and her husband Parker, Norah Blow, Rayna and Easton Apley.

Roger will be missed and continued to be loved by his friends and family.

Services will be held Saturday September 16th at 1:30pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses; 6800 Pine Lake Road, Lincoln NE 68516.

I will miss Roger. He helped me so much after my husband died. His jokes were funny. He was fun to be around. Looking forward to seeing him and Linda again. “No more death” (Revelation 21:4-5

    Jim Elliott,
Didn’t know Roger very well. The view times we visited I always enjoyed and had wished I would have gotten to know him better. So sorry for your loss but I know he is in Jehovahs memory. Wish you all well.
