Robert Myron McCallister

September 23, 1930 – May 11, 2018

Robert grew up in Tulare, CA, the fourth of five sons of W.E. and Bula McCallister. After his graduation from high school, he attended College of the Sequoias and San Francisco State. He pursued the ministry at Iliff School of Theology and received a B.D. from Pacific School of Religion. He served the Methodist church in Stockton, St Helena and Mill Valley, CA. Bob then went on to pursue an MA and PhD at Northwestern. He held a variety of teaching and administrative positions at Baker University, Doane College, Fresno State, Missouri Valley College and St. Mary College (Professor Emeritus). He was instrumental in the development of the Doane-Lincoln program.

Bob enjoyed the outdoors, especially Sequoia National Park in California. He loved music, hiking, reading and was an avid sports fan. He served as advisor to the Doane men’s basketball team during his tenure there.

Survivors: son, Andy of Crete; daughter and son-in-law, Marti and Tim McKee, grandsons Alex and Ian, of Lincoln.

Services will be held Thursday, May 17th at 10:30 AM, Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2110 Sheridan Blvd, Lincoln, Nebraska.
