Robert Allan Bridges

Robert “Georgia” Bridges, 87, of Syracuse, NE passed away Thursday, March 30th, 2023. Bob was born in rural Pulaski County, Georgia in 1935. While stationed at the Lincoln Air Force base he met and married Kathy (Podlesak) Bridges. Bob and Kathy had five children and resided in Lincoln. He is survived by his children James, Anne and Mary, as well as eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and his dear friend and longtime companion, Waneta Bales. Bob is preceded in death by wife Kathy, his parents, George and Ruby, and sons Michael and Robert.

After an honorable discharge from the Air Force he worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 30 years. Bob will be fondly remembered by his family and friends as a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid gardener, passionate cat-fisherman and for many years enjoyed running the river with his “river rats”.

Funeral mass will be held Wednesday, April 26th at 10:30 am at St. Paulinus Church, 476 Poplar St. Syracuse, NE.. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Lincoln NE. Memorials can be made to The Cat House, Lincoln NE.

    So sorry to learn of Bob’s passing. I will always remember our visits at the mailbox, his gardening skills, his love of cats, his fishing stories, and his 4×4 bobber. RIP, dear, kind friend. My condolences to his family.
