Nancy Jean Fosbender

Nancy Jean (Hanna) Fosbender entered glory April 10th at the age of 92. She was born in Ainsworth and grew up on the family ranch near Wood Lake NE. She rode her horse Tango to a one room country school. Graduated from Wood Lake Highschool, then attended Nebraska Wesleyan College, where she was a cheerleader and a Willard Sorority member. She met her husband Roger at Wesleyan. They married in 1954 and had two children. After graduation she taught 1st grade in Lincoln and Roger joined the Air Force. They were stationed at 5 different bases. They settled back in Lincoln in 1962. Nancy worked part time at Miller & Paine Cosmetic department, while her children were in school. Later she worked at Wedgewood Medical center for 26 years and then retired. Nancy loved all Nebraska sports, especially football. They attended most home football games for many seasons. She was also an avid bridge player. She belonged to several different clubs and groups over the years. She was a wonderful mother, an even better grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her family and would do anything for them, as they would for her.
Preceded in death by Parents; Harold D. & Lucile (Wittwer) Hanna, Husband Col Roger W Fosbender, Sister; Phyllis and (Dr Ben) Karas of Red Lodge MT, Son-in-law Roger L. Hergenrader, Sister-in-law Judith Hanna.
Nancy is survived by brother Col John Hanna USAF (Ret) & wife Katherine of San Antonio TX
children, Cristi (Frank) Bossemeyer, Mark (Robin) Fosbender Grandsons; Brandon and Derek Turner, Eric and Travis Fosbender. Great grandson Jaydon Turner. Several cousins, nephews, nieces, and many dear friends.
Memorial Service will be held on April 26, 2025 at 1:00 PM with a dessert fellowship to follow at Cornerstone Baptist Church: 6251 Colby St. in Lincoln, NE.
