Mark Howard Wooten

Mark Wooten, age 58, of Lincoln, passed away on 3/23/2021. A graduate of East high and SCC Milford, Mark always followed the beat of his own drum, and lived life on his terms. Being a people pleaser, Mark carved out his own niche in life by performing and entertaining as a DJ at weddings and karaoke at local bars and taverns in and around the Lincoln area.
Mark always enjoyed his friends, music, watching trains, model railroading and model building were just some of his many pastimes as well as traveling the highways and byways of this country on his Harley. If you knew Mark you knew you had a friend for life.
Mark would always offer help at the asking; no one was a stranger to Mark. Mark enjoyed a large circle of friends, his passing will leave an equally large void in all of the lives he has touched. Forever loved, forever missed.
Survived by his sister Leann Wooten, (Marc Wilson). Preceded in death by wife Kim, brother Tom, parents Marlene and Howard Wooten.
At his request there will be a celebration of life at a future date to be announced.

Condolences for Mark Howard Wooten
Mark was always so much fun to do karaoke with. He loved that and his wife who he missed and loved and spoke of often. I will miss you Mark. I am glad you are with your wife and singing with her again. 😘
Mark and I were childhood friends. We rode our bikes around Laura Avenue and other places. I spent time at his childhood home and was always impressed by Mark’s railroad model collection. He was always a great friend. In high school we ran into each other again. (We went to different grade and high schools, so we had lost touch.) Reconnecting, we went out on a few dates. His free-spirited personality continued to soar. Later he met my brother-in-law Quin at a model train group so I heard about his marriage, Kim’s death, and we connected on Facebook. Mark was a special part of my life. We always got along, even though our lives took us different places. Most of my post-college life was outside of Nebraska, so we didn’t get to meet each other much in later years. I’m grateful for the memories of Mark and fun times we shared.
