Lawrence Hugh Gavre

Lawrence Hugh Gavre “Larry”, 81, died peacefully on April 18th 2023, at his home in Lincoln.  He was born in Eau Claire, WI on May 25th 1941 to Mr. Alex and Evelyn Gavre.  He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed helping others.  As a young man, he was an active member of the Civil Air Patrol and in the Ham Radio Club.  Larry joined the AirForce as an engine mechanic; while stationed at Lincoln Air Base, he met his lovely wife, Barbara Gavre.  He worked at Cushman for 30 years.  His interests included carpentry, working on cars, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending time with loved ones.

Larry was survived by his spouse Barbara of 60 years; children Lawrence Lee (Leah) Gavre and Steven Ray (Melissa) Gavre; brother Bernard Gavre, Nancy Hoag, and Vicki Gavre.  He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter Roxanne Gavre, and son Anthony Gavre.

Funeral service will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Lincoln, NE on May 1st 2023. Rosary will be at 10:30am, Mass service at 11:00am, luncheon, followed by private interment.
