Kristi L. Turner

Kristi Lynne Turner, age 59, passed away on August 6, 2025, in Lincoln, Nebraska, after a courageous 16-year battle with cancer. Her strength and enduring spirit were a testament to her kind and compassionate heart.

Kristi was born on May 27, 1966, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Throughout her life, she was known for her warmth and generosity, touching the lives of many with her unwavering kindness and big heart. She was a devoted member of Vine Congregational Church in Lincoln, where her faith provided strength and comfort throughout her journey.

Kristi is lovingly remembered by her husband, Doug, of Lincoln, Nebraska; her brother Rodney and wife Geri of Lincoln, Nebraska; her sister Angela and husband Kirk Rust of Spencer, South Dakota; and her sister Stasha and husband Randy Back of Malcolm, Nebraska. She also leaves behind 15 nieces and nephews: Amanda, Maria, Ryan, Jason, Daniel, Ashley, Melody, Matthew, Noelle, Rachel, Isaac, Makayla, Samantha, Isabella, and Addison; as well as 18 great-nieces and great-nephews who brought joy to her life.

She is also remembered by her brothers-in-law Dave Turner and wife Christina of Ankeny, Iowa, Nick Turner of Hastings, Nebraska and sister-in-law Beth Etmund of Fremont NE.

Kristi was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Marjorie Flink; her brother, Mark Flink; her paternal and maternal grandparents; and her father- and mother-in-law, Kent and Judy Turner.

Kristi’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her legacy of compassion continue to inspire all who were touched by her presence.

A Celebration of Life will be held on August 30, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Vine Congregational Church, 1800 Twin Ridge Road, Lincoln, Nebraska. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family.

    Kristi was a very special lady, who touched so many people along her journey. In her journey I was one of the lucky ones to have have called her my bestie. She was truly my soul sister. She will greatly missed but not forgotten.. love you to the moon and back.
