Karen Bowland
Karen Bowland, 76, of Lincoln, formerly of Auburn, passed away January 11, 2020, at Bryan East Hospital. She was born to George and Margaret (Helms) Simmons on May 28, 1943 in Auburn, NE. Karen married Howard Bowland on July 21, 1962.
Karen is survived by her husband Howard Bowland, children Greg Bowland, Jeff Bowland, Les Bowland, Nancy (Bowland) Howe, Cynthia (Bowland) Geiszler son in law Todd Howe, sisters Georgina (Simmons) Allgood, Janette (Simmons) Price, brother in law Eugene Allgood, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents George and Margaret Simmons, brothers Ron Simmons, Don Simmons, and Bobby Leroy Simmons.
Cremation. No visitation.
Rosary: Thursday, January 16, 2020 7pm at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.
Mass: Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 6111 Morrill Ave. in Lincoln, Nebraska. Reception following after Mass at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate Mass cards or donations to the church.

I thank God for the wonderful memories I have of my Aunt Karen. I’m sure my mother was running to greet her when she reached our Forever Home. Our love and prayers are with you Uncle Bud (Howard) and family.
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. She was a wonderful and fun loving mom. I remember spending alot of time down at the house on 52nd and orchard. She will be greatly missed!!! My thoughts and prayers are with you Cindy and Nancy!!!!
