So sorry for your loss, John was a great guy and I have many good memories of/with him. Please take care in your grief. A couple of my favorites below, hope they will bring you some solace.
From the X files Voice over: In the endless procession of souls… in what cannot and will not be destroyed. I want to believe we are unaware of God’s eternal recompense and sadness. That we cannot see His truth. That that which is born still lives and cannot be buried in the cold earth. But only waits to be born again at God’s behest… where in ancient starlight we lay in repose.
Have courage for the great sorrows of life and patience for the small ones; and when you have laboriously accomplished your daily task, go to sleep in peace. God is awake. – Victor Hugo, 1802-1885
“It is a far, far better thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to than I have ever known.” – Charles Dickens
Helen Keller once said “Although the world is full of suffering, it is full also of the overcoming of it.”
