Jodene Mary Rudd

featured image

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Jodene Mary (Robinson) Rudd of Lincoln, Nebraska, who passed away peacefully on September 23, 2025 in Lincoln, Nebraska with her family by her side. She was 80 years of age. Jodene was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Howard and Mary (Reizenstein) Robinson.

Jodene grew up in Gering, Nebraska with her parents, sibling, and her dog Queenie. As a young girl she spent time in the Beauty Salon with her Aunt Beverly and the ladies “spilling the tea”. In her teens she would cruise the main drag in her red and white Nash Rambler convertible.

She attended Gering High School where she played the clarinet in the marching band. In the years following graduation, Jodene attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln where she met the love of her life Michael Rudd.

Following college, Jody and Michael were stationed at Ft. Eustis, Newport News, Virginia and overseas in Nuremberg, Germany, along with her family, for three years, and several U.S. bases.  During their time in Germany, Jodene and her family were able to travel throughout Europe experiencing lasting memories and making lifelong friends. Upon returning to the states, they lived in Washington D.C., Augusta, Georgia, and then making their way back to Lincoln, Nebraska.

Jodene worked at Maude Rousseau Elementary School as a Health Technician in the Health Office for 27 years taking care of the students and brightening their day. She enjoyed running into her students over the years and watching them grow from young adults to parents of children that would attend Maude Rousseau.

Jodene and Michael were dedicated to each other in marriage for over 58 years.  Michael and Jody were blessed with seven children: Mark, Lisa, Michael, John, David, Christina, and Andrew. Jodene was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. The stories of her love and support of her family are abundant.

Jodene was one of a kind, with a zest for life and caring for others. She had a heart of gold, and genuine kindness to all that crossed her path. She was a proud mother, not only supporting her children, but also their friends throughout the many years. She had a passion for shelling at the beach, traveling, and large cookouts with her family. Jodene cherished the holidays with the family all together. One of her favorite past times was walking on the beach at Lido Key in Sarasota, Florida watching the sunset with Michael by her side.

Jodene’s commitment and love for her husband, children and grandchildren will be felt for generations to come.

Jodene is survived by her loving children; Mark and Dawn Rudd, Lisa Rudd, Michael and Aimee Rudd, John and Tricia Rudd, David Rudd and Anthony Montroy, Christina and Dan Rezabek, Andrew and Megan Rudd.

Grandchildren; Ashley (Rudd) and Paul Hoebelheinrich, Amanda (Rudd) and Tucker Hochstein, Emmabella Rudd, Evan Rudd, Ava Rudd, Addyson Rudd, Lilly Rudd, Olivia Rudd and Wells Rudd.

Special Cousin: Ruthanne Aye.

Brother and sister-in-law; Gary and Linda Robinson. Nephew; John Robinson. Niece; Scarlett (Robinson) Uhlenkott.

Jodene is preceded in death by her husband; Michael Rudd and parents; Howard and Mary Robinson.

A Funeral Mass is planned at the Cathedral of the Risen Christ Church, 3500 Sheridan Boulevard, Lincoln, NE. Funeral Service: Friday October 17, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.

Memorials to be designated to the Rudd Family.

Sending my sincere sympathies to your family at this time. There are so memories I have of you, dragging main in my ‘57 Chevy or your Nash Rambler. Water skiing at Lake Minatare, boys, music and so many other memories that got me in trouble. Had lots of fun and laughs. Geez, I could tell a lot of stories about us when we were 16, just happy thoughts. Rest in peace, Jodene
