Jessica Ann Honnen
Jessica Ann Honnen left this life on November 4th, 2023. She was born on June 11, 1986. She grew up in North Platte, NE; Columbus, NE; Burnaby, BC; Taos NM; Muscatine, IA; & Lincoln, NE. After she was homeschooled through 7th grade, she started public school in 8th grade. She attended Southwest high school, but withdrew her senior year & got her GED. She got the highest score you can get on the English subject. She was going to be a writer, & started a novel, but wasn’t able to finish it. She was a voracious reader. When Jessica turned 18 she left Nebraska to see other places. She ended up in Boise, ID. She lived there for 9 years where she met & had 2 daughters with her first love, Jeremiah Hadzor. Jessica knew she was too young to raise her first daughter, Ayla, so she found a wonderful couple, Scott & Simone Baker, to adopt Ayla & raise her in an open adoption so Jessica could still show her how much she loved her. Eight years later Jessica had Juliet, who became the most important person in her life. When Juliet turned one, Jessica decided to move back to Nebraska, to her parents’ delight. Jessica enrolled Juliet at McPhee elementary school & lived in the neighborhood. She instilled in Juliet’s education the love of God, family, books, language, animals & people of all nationalities. We are so thankful & proud of the legacy she has left us with her 2 daughters.
Jessica is survived by two daughters, Ayla Baker of Okanogan, WA; & Juliet Hadzor of Lincoln, NE. A sister, Rebecca Frankenstein of Lincoln, NE. Two brothers, Daniel Honnen of Lincoln, NE; & Luke Honnen (wife Dana Honnen) of Union City, CA. Niece, Luna Honnen. Father, Steve Honnen, of Lincoln, NE; Mother, Patti (North) Kersey, of Lincoln, NE. Step-father, Craig Kersey, of Lincoln, NE. Grandmothers, Elizabeth Honnen, of Lincoln, NE; & Marcia Coty, of Rio Rancho, NM.
Inurnment services with family & a private celebration of life will be at a later date.

I’m so sorry for your loss, Patti. I just learned of her passing (to Heaven, a glorious place) but leaves a hole in your heart, I know.
Jessica was the best downstairs neighbor anyone could ask for—she was kind, funny, creative and full of life.
Residing at this address now feels empty without her. I am honored to have met Jessica and miss her greatly.
