Harvey “Glenn” Ringland
Harvey Glenn (Homer) Ringland, 73, Bennet, NE passed away December 28, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Born August 8, 1944 to LeRoy and Mary Ringland, he grew up on their farm near Bennet and graduated from Bennet High School in 1963. He completed his Barber College degree and while he was a barber, he also was a member of the Army National Guard for six years.
Glenn had worked for ADM, Lincoln Plant then had changed to the Purina Chow plant in Lincoln, where he then transferred to the Ralston Purina Pet Plant in Denver, CO where he retired in February 2001.
In retirement years he loved golf, working in his metal shop building trailers and repairing items for friends and family. He helped his brother with cattle sales & shows, and enjoyed water sports. His passion was being with family at get-togethers.
Survivors include his wife Gail (Buswell); daughters Dina (Brad) Beardsley, Roxanne Ringland, and Annette Newton; siblings Marilyn (David) Lieurance, and Ronald Ringland; mother-in-law Lois Buswell; brothers-in-laws Gordon Buswell, and David (Lana) Buswell; grandchildren Nicholas Beardsley, Steven, Karey and Jeffrey Newton; nieces and nephews Ronnie (Tami) Ringland, Kristen Ringland (Steve Sherrill); Lynn (Mike) Pease, Leigh Lieurance, Jim (Julie) Lieurance, Darla (Jason) Lacey, and Holly (Brent) Kube; twelve great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew; and lots of friends.
Preceded in death by his father LeRoy Ringland, mother Mary Jane (Peckham) Ringland, brother Dale LeRoy Ringland; father-in-law Elmer Buswell; and sister-in-law Sue Lana Ringland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for future donations to Bennet Community Church and the American Legion as Glenn had specified.
Cremation. No visitation. Service in the future.
