Diane L. Safranek
Diane Louise (Halada) Safranek, 78 passed away quietly on April 23, 2022 at Bryan Medical Center East, Lincoln Nebraska.
Born August 19, 1943 to Adolph and Emma Halada in Crete, Nebraska, where she lived her entire life.
United in marriage to Ronald Safranek in Crete, Nebraska in March of 1963. They lived in Crete For several years before moving to a small farm outside of town. There they enjoyed over 50 years together, while attending to a variety of farm animals including goats and horses.
Diane worked as a human resource officer with the State of Nebraska Department of Health where she retired in 2000 after 37 years.
She was a member of the Blue River Riders Saddle Club, 4-H horse club leader for 35 years, served 20 years with the Saline Agricultural Society and an avid bowler all in Saline County, Nebraska. Diane enjoyed traveling throughout Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa and South Dakota to announce at various horse shows held at county fairs, state fairs and 4-H competitions.
Survived by husband, Ronald Safranek of Crete, sister-in-law Sharon Day, Nieces Debbie (Mike) Yost, Dixie (Rich) Kornfeld, Dorie (Joe) Sittler, Tracy Day, Kelly (Randy) Brummett, Cory Day and Mike (Jessie) Day along with many great nieces and nephews.
Proceeded in death by parents, Adolph and Emma Halada, in-laws Henry and Nellie Safranek, all of Crete, brothers-in-law Lyle Safranek and Sam Day. Sister and brother –in-law Dorothy and Walter Hupka, brother Delvin Halada and nephews Gary Hupka and Rick Hupka.
No services will be held. A casual gathering with family will be held a place and time to be determined in the near future.
