Beverly Ann Quinlan

May 7, 1940 – June 21, 2025
Beverly “Bev” Ann Quinlan, a woman with a vibrant personality and a remarkable presence that filled any space, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Sumner Place nursing home in Lincoln, Nebraska, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Bev graduated from Withrow High School and attended the University of Cincinnati. In May of 1960, she married the love of her life, Bert Quinlan. They recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary, a joyous occasion filled with music, family, and friends – a testament to their enduring love.
Bev’s greatest joy was her family. She dedicated her life to them, often traveling across the country to spend cherished time with her children and grandchildren. Christmas, in particular, was a magical time, overflowing with love, laughter, and her famous peanut butter fudge. She was a devoted mother to Elizabeth Cookston, Sean Quinlan (Jenny), Timothy Quinlan, and Amy Borell (Louis). Her legacy continues through her adoring grandchildren, Danielle Colson (Joey), Mitchell Cookston (Courtney), Casey Borell, Madison Borell, and Brandon Borell, and her beloved great-grandchildren, Anna, Wrigley, and Kamaya.
Bev also leaves behind her loving sister-in-law Donna Quinlan, her best friend Suzanne Douglas, and many nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends from Ohio, Michigan, Arkansas, and Nebraska; all of whom will deeply miss her.
Beyond her family, Bev found fulfillment in gardening, actively participating in community affairs, and volunteering. She was also proud of her time working for the Lincoln Police Department and the U.S. Marshall Service.
A celebration of Bev’s remarkable life will be held at a later date in Lincoln, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in her honor to support Alzheimer’s research and a cure: Momma Q.
Though our minds still hear her and our hearts will forever look for her, our souls find peace knowing she is at rest. With aching hearts, we say goodbye. WE LOVE YOU!

BEV, I will miss you, but you will always be my sister. Rest in peace until we meet again.❤️
What a huge loss. I worked with Bev at the Police Dept. 47 years ago and she was always my favorite person. She had a huge personality, a hilarious sense of humor and rolled with the punches in a very face paced stressful work environment. Every day we worked together was a joy. We would go to Taco John’s at 13th and South after work, tell stories and laugh. Bev backed down to no one. I was almost 20 years younger than her and I looked up to Bev. She loved to talk about her kids and I loved hearing her stories about them. What a blessing to all that got to enjoy her. Prayers to your entire family. Sara
Sorry to hear about Bev’s passing. She was such a special person to me. She treated me as her daughter and friend. When I needed advice, she was always there for me. She will missed.
Mrs Q you will be greatly missed but definitely never forgotten. You were a strong remarkable woman who always had a story to tell, baby to hug or a pet to take care of. Now you can finally rest in peace after your long battle.
Mr. Quinlan I am so sorry for your loss. I know she will be surely missed. I have such fond memories of Mrs. Quinlan through out the years. She was an amazing person and mother. I remember most is how she would come to visit Amy and always treat me as if I was one of her daughters by giving me advice and guidance.
I remember her being such a strong and loving woman. My prayers go out to you and your family.
May Mrs. Quinlan rest in peace❤️🙏🏻
