Trevor Vilas Tieken: b. June 1st, 1966, d. August 11th, 2021 at the age of 55.

Trevor grew up in Pomona, California, with his parents and three sisters. He attended school at St. Paul’s Lutheran as a child, followed by Lutheran High LaVerne. He was firm in his faith, and valued science and knowledge. He moved to Nebraska from California the summer of 1990, where he met Sheryl Kehm. Diagnosed with Stage 4 colorectal cancer on October 8th, 2019, he worked until he was no longer able to. During his journey, he was pleasant, patient and strong until the very end. He passed, peacefully, surrounded by his family, visited by his friends, and knew that he was blessed and loved until the very end.

He was survived by his wife, Sheryl Kehm Tieken (Seward, NE); his daughters, Tatyana Tieken, Vanessa Tieken and Kassandra Tieken (all residing in Seward, NE); his granddaughter, Natalie Munsinger (Seward, NE); his sisters; Brenda Tieken-Goodman (Upland, CA), Tamara Tieken (Lake Havasu, AZ) and Corinne Tieken (Bloomington, CA); his father-in-law, Ralph (Mick) Kehm (Seward, NE); his brother-in-law, Terry Kehm (Seward, NE); along with various nieces, nephews, and great nieces. He also is survived by the family’s dog, a blue nosed pit named Chloe (Seward, NE), and his best friend in his adult life, James Holmes (Lincoln, NE).

He was preceded in death by his mother, MaryAnn (Ellis) Tieken and his father, LaVerne Tieken, as well as his mother-in-law, Sandra Kehm.

There will be a small, informal service held by the family on Sunday, Aug 22nd, at 3:00 pm at Seward Bowl, 123 S 4th St, Seward NE, 68434. Sympathy cards and memorials can be sent Aspen Cremation Service, 4822 Cleveland Avenue, Lincoln NE 68504.

A big heartfelt hug of gratitude to Sheryl, Tatyana, Vanessa, Kassandra and Natalie for taking such great care of Trevor ❤.
He was surrounded by your love and care until the end and that makes my heart feel better.
Trevor was my younger brother so we were the closest in the family and we would joke that I was his favorite 😂 Truth is he loved all his girls ❤
Rest in peace Trevie-son, say hi to Sheryl’s Mom, our Mom and Dad and Aunt Inez. I’m sure they were there to guide you along to your final place.
All of my love to his family. May his memories bring you peace.
I love you all and appreciate what you did for my Brother.
    Love, Corinne

My condolences to the family. Trevor and I were good friends in high school. We bantered, played chess, and always competed who could get the second highest gpa behind mike mutschler. With mike, eric Swanson, linda Hoffman, and lisa tessier, we were a clique. I lost contact with trevor soon after hs because of track in college, but I remember him fondly and am saddened to learn he proceeded me. God bless his family.
