Marvin James Louthan

Born on June 7, 1943.
Passed away on July 12, 2020.
Marvin graduated from Lincoln High School in 1961 and from Southeast Community College on 1967. He married Kathy Reetz June 23, 1967. Marvin retired in 2008 from the Nebraska State Patrol Communications with 38 years of service.
Marvin is preceded in death by his son Jeffraey in 1972.
He is survived by his wife Kathy, his daughter Jennifer Louthan, his son Kevin Louthan and 4 grand cats.
Memorial service Friday, July 17th at 10:30 am at Messiah Lutheran Church 1800 S. 84th Street.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Louthan family. Was great having Marv as a dispatcher for the HDQ troops. Enjoyed many visits with him down at dispatch. A great man, missed by many.
I started dispatching with NSP in 1988 and would see Marv in the mornings when I came to work at 7:00 AM. I have many fond memories and stories of working with him. My sincere sympathy to all of you.
Marv rode with me a few times. What a great guy, he wasn’t real thrilled with the speed.

Kathy and family, it was an honor to work with Marv starting in 1977. We had many a good time in the radio room. His favorite was when they stuffed me in the trash can! He was a kind man and whenever he stopped by my house to chat, it brought a smile to my face that would last for hours. Thank you for sharing him with me.

I consider Marvin and Kathy to be the best of Foodnet friends! You could tell that there was love and respect there. He was quite the character and will be missed. I appreciate the time I had to know him and his dear wife, Kathy has always inspired me. Bless their hearts!
