“Pat” Patricia Anne Rowell
Patricia Anne “Pat” Rowell was called home to be with the Lord on January 22, 2020. Pat died peacefully, surrounded by her three sons.
Prior to her life in Falls City, Pat was blessed to have seen and visited most of our great nation and other countries. Her children were born as follows, Kevin (St Augustine, Florida), Alicia (The Island of Guam), Kyle (San Diego, California), and Kristopher (Waukegan, North Chicago). During her dynamic life as a Navy wife, Pat made a home for her family in each of those cities as well as Norfolk, Virginia, Pensacola, Florida (twice), Honolulu, Hawaii, and Falls City. Pat made friends wherever her family was stationed and is beloved by her friends around the country and across the world.
Pat loved children and was deeply devoted to bettering the lives of children in any way she could everywhere she went. Wherever our family was stationed Mom volunteered in our church. When she and Larry settled in Falls City, Pat worked at the Head Start Program and drove the bus for Head Start for a time. As a member of The Good News Assembly of God Church in Falls City for many years, Pat volunteered including cooking meals on Wednesday nights for the youth program. She enjoyed telling us that she loved making sure those kids got a good home cooked meal every Wednesday night. Pat was a beautiful singer. She loved to share her love of God in song both in the choir and as a soloist. Dad loved to hear Mom sing. Pat enjoyed reading, and often volunteered to read to children including at her daughter-in-law, Theresa’s, elementary school in Panama City, Florida. Pat loved gardening and canning her harvest and instilled that love for growing things in each of her children. For Pat, spending time helping others, loving her family, sharing her life with her family and friends, and sharing her love for God we’re her greatest joy.
Pat was a Navy wife for 28 years. Being born in St Augustine and living a life as a Navy wife, it’s no surprise that Mom loved the beach. Whenever she visited, she was sure to make a trip to the beach. As a Navy wife Pat often performed the duties of both mother and father to her children. Pat was a strong woman, a Southern Belle, with the ability to “wither” any one of her children with a look. But Mom surrounded each of us with her love and knew us as individuals. We always knew we were loved with her whole heart.
Larry and Pat moved to Falls City, Nebraska in 1986 after Larry retired from the Navy. Their marriage was a testimony of their love for each other, and for their children. Their devotion to each other and to the Lord was evident to all who knew them. Pat is now reunited in Heaven with Larry, the love of her life, and with her daughter, Alicia.
Pat is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Lee Rowell (Retired Navy AGCS, 1958-1986), of Falls City, and her daughter, Alicia Colleen Rowell, of Falls City. She is survived by her sons, Kevin Lee Rowell (Jannine), Kyle William Rowell (Theresa) and Kristopher Erick Rowell as well as Sandy Warren who she loved as a mother loves a daughter; by her grandchildren, Justin Rowell, Kyla Adams, Seth Adams, Zachary Rowell, Travis Rowell, Conner Rowell, Gabriella Rowell, and Jackson Rowell, as well as Ciara Catlin and Tyler Catlin whom she loved as a grandmother loves her grandchildren; and her great-grandchildren Ella Adams, Noel Adams, Harrison Adams, and Caden Rowell.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that anyone who wishes to, please send a donation to The Monarch House in Lincoln Nebraska. The Monarch House is a wonderful hospice facility that provided our family with a peaceful, quiet, caring environment where we could be with Mom in her final days on this earth. Pat would rejoice knowing that your donation allowed someone less fortunate to have that peace in their final days.
A celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11 am at The Good News Assembly of God Church, located at 600 Reavis Street, Falls City, Nebraska 68355. A Pot Luck Supper will be held at the church immediately following services. Please plan to share a meal with Pat’s Family as we celebrate her life, and rejoice in her legacy of faith in God and devotion to her family.
