Lisa Sommers
October 11, 1963- January 11, 2019
Lisa A. Sommers, 55, from Lincoln, Nebraska, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and friends. She was in the U.S. Navy from 1986-1993. Lisa was a valued employee for Burlington Northern from 1998-2014. Lisa was an outstanding equestrian for many years, winning many awards. She loved her horses, and her dogs, Acie and Abbie, to name a few.
Lisa loved her son, Shawn, more than anything. She was so happy with the man he has become. Just being around Lisa for a couple hours, you would realize how much he meant to her. You would often hear her talking about how proud she was that Shawn was in the National Guard, or working for the railroad.Lisa was a Catholic till the day she died. She was a devoted daughter, mother, and aunt.
Lisa would do anything for the people around her. Sometimes you didn’t even have ask, she would just show up, and if you were lucky she would bring a case of “willy willy’s”. She was always there for a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on. Whatever it was you needed, she made it happen. She was a friend to everyone, and now she’s our angel in heaven.
She was preceded in death by parents Jack Sommers and Willadene Petty, sister Lyn Underwood, and nephew Trevor Underwood.
She is survived by a son Shawn Sommers (Briana Boner), and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and many, many friends.
