Bonnie Jean Cashmere

Bonnie Jean Cashmere was born June 2, 1949, in San Francisco, California, and died March 24, 2026, in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Married to Jack for 56 years and mother of twin boys, she wore many hats over the years: dog catcher, dog groomer, ambulance driver, CNA, realtor and historical reenactor with the Winchester Widows, most notably riding in the Rose Bowl Parade. She showed both dogs and horses. Later, she volunteered at horse shows where she shared her time and expertise with both animals and competitors.
Her loves were simple, sincere, and unwavering: horses, dogs, books, sewing, and her treasured quilts. She was feisty and unapologetically herself—never hesitating to feed a dog from her plate or ignore the rules.
She is survived by her husband, Jack; her sons, Christopher (Caryl) and Corey (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Emily, Anne, Madelyn, and Ryan.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 8320 South Street, Lincoln, Nebraska.
In memory of Bonnie’s lifelong love of animals, memorials may be directed to the Capital Humane Society.
