(Scooter) Lyle Scott McElfresh of Wymore, Nebraska, age 58, born on October 17, 1967, in Marietta, Ohio to Emma Fogle and Lyle M McElfresh Sr. Scooter passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2026 at Beatrice Community Hospital in Beatrice, Nebraska.

Scooter graduated in 1987 from West Muskingum High School in Zanesville, Ohio. Scooter enjoyed Ohio State football, The Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR. Scooter also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and spending time with his four nieces. They knew him as Uncle Scootie.

Scooter was employed at Casey’s in Wymore, Nebraska. He made lots of friends. Scooter moved to Idaho in 1989 where he was the lead singer in a band. Throughout Scooter’s life he moved to the different states of Ohio, Washington, Indiana, Kansas, and Nebraska. Scooter enjoyed helping others when needed. He never met a stranger and would give the shirt off his back.

Scooter loved life, and his family: Melissa and Eric Miner and their four daughters who Scooter lived with. Scooter was married two times to Joyce La Fever and Tara McElfresh. Scooter is survived by three sons: Joel La Fever, Damion McElfresh, and Laren McElfresh. Scooter is also survived by Brother’s Roy ( Lucinda) McElfresh of Hanover, Kansas, Lyle M. McElfresh Jr. (Shawn) of Davenport, Iowa, Jack Clark JR of Warren, Michigan, Bradley Paynter of Surprise, Arizona, Steven (Mary) Clark of Zanesville, Ohio, Sonny Clark of Cambridge, Ohio, Brian (Stephany) McElfresh Of Caldwell, Ohio. Surviving Sister’s Pamela (Tim) Sinfield of Pleasant City, Ohio, Shannon Carpenter of Cumberland, Ohio,Melissa Dye (Brian) of Caldwell, Ohio; and one uncle Larry Fogle of Steubenville, Ohio, and several nieces and nephews. And one special friend Barbie Watkins.

Preceded in death by his parents Emma Fogle, Lyle M McElfresh Sr; Jack Clark Sr, three sisters Candy Beaman, Kathy Stevens, and Patty Nicholson, one brother Tony Johnson, one Aunt Iris Bates. Also, several aunts and uncles, and one cousin.

A Celebration of Life will be held on February 21, 2026, at the Wymore Church of Christ at 1:00 pm, with Clayton Lundstedt officiating. Church is located at 618 W. M St., Wymore, Nebraska 68466. Memorials to the family for future designation.

    I knew scooter well enough met him when he would come in to mcds for a number 4 only ketchup made fresh every night after work and we would talk like old friends who hadn’t seen each other in years kinda just hit it off then I saw him again at the wymore express and finally at Casey’s talked him into running for mayor alil against his will and he almost won he was a great loss rk everyone who knew him and will be missed a great deal ill see you again my friend

    Oh brother I would never imagine that I would be writing in your obituary it has been so hard since you passed away thank you for being my brother for all my life I know we had our ups and down thru our lives but you was there when I needed you. I handling this passing thru my faith in Jesus christ I have been asking him for strength and his love RIP my brother I will miss you and love you until we see each other again
