Ronnie L. Pedersen

May 3, 1946  – June 18, 2025

Ronnie L. Pedersen, 79, a proud Vietnam War veteran, devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025 at home, surrounded by his family and with his faithful furry friend by his side.

Ron was born in St. Paul, Nebraska and raised in Scotia, Nebraska where he graduated from North Loup Scotia High school in 1964. While there, he participated in band and football. Ron then served in the Vietnam War from 1965-1968.

After returning home, Ron built a life grounded in hard work, humor, love and family. He first enrolled in the Grand Island School of business where he studied accounting. He then spent some time working for the Nebraska Highway Patrol. After that, he started his lifelong career as a truck driver, that eventually led him to meeting his wife, Laura. He married Laura in 1978, and together they raised four children. He loved his family deeply. His grandchildren will tell you that he had some of the best worst jokes, and would do just about anything to make everyone laugh. His great grandchildren knew him as “Papa,” the man who handed out too many pieces of candy, and always had a smile on his face.

Ron’s life was one of service—service to his country, his family, and the animals he adored. He leaves behind a legacy of those who love him, and he will be so greatly missed by so many.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Laura; his son Drew Pedersen, & his stepchildren, Todd Pfundt, Jeff Pfundt, & Kristie Seacrest; his 6 grandchildren, Danielle Anthony (Tyler), Megan Swenson (Caden), Hayley Seacrest, Tanner Vohl, Dillon Seacrest, & Connor Pfundt; his 5 great grandchildren, Emma, Dawson, Jameson, Kai, & Noah; his siblings, Sheryl Morrow, Rick Pedersen, & Kevin Pedersen; his loyal dog, JR; and countless friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, Dale and Isabelle Pedersen.

A open house memorial service will be held at the IBEW hall at 1409 Old Farm Rd in Lincoln, NE on Sunday, June 22nd from 5:30pm-8:30pm.
