Alice Louise Lauer

Alice Louise Lauer, 91, passed away May 7, 2025 in Lincoln, NE. She was born in Sutherland, NE on April 2nd, 1934 to Glen and Ruth Mae Tracy.

Alice spent most of her life in North Platte, NE where she raised her family and enjoyed a career with JC Penney before moving to Lincoln in 2006. Alice was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother who was happiest surrounded by family. She also enjoyed playing cards with friends.

She is survived by her children, Kathy (Dan) Winkenwerder, Ken (Alice) Lauer, Karen Rowe, all of Lincoln, and Kirk (Wendy Eismont) Lauer of State College, PA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Amy (Aiden Quinn) Winkenwerder, Ashli (Max) Porter, Kyle (Megan) Winkenwerder, Ally Lauer, Chris (Angie) Lauer, Gwen (Garrett Rabian) Lauer, Pete Lauer, and 6 great grandchildren, Willa, Penny, Ellie, Cara, Noah, and Luca.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Lauer.

    Karen, your mom was a lovely lady. I’m sure the two of you spent a lot of time together. You probably called her when you had any news. The next time you have news, you realize you can’t call her. That’s how it affected me!!!! Take care. I’ll bet your dad was there to welcome her.

    Alice wss a lady and i knew her and Harold in Downey ,Ca. We spent allot of time together and became good friends over the years. She will be miss. Prayers for the family.

    I am deeply saddened by this loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. I truly regret that I was unable to visit her one last time. Aunt Alice was a wonderful, thoughtful caring woman and she will be missed.

    Alice was a dear friend. We shared many fun times together, I’ll miss her. She loved her family so much and looked forward to the Sunday dinners and football get together.
