Della Frances Gloe
Della Frances Gloe age 94, went to be with her Lord on April 4, 2025.
Della was born in Brady, NE on May 20, 1930, to Henry and Nora Nelson. Della was only 5 when her father died, so her mother decided to bring the family to Lincoln. They lived in college view and attended school there. Della and her brother and sister would always help in the large family garden after school with their mother. She loved gardening well into her 80’s at her home on south 55th street.
Della married Richard Gloe and had four children in their marriage. After the children were older, Della began a new career. She enrolled in a nursing Tech program offered at Bryan Hospital working in the OB department. Della worked in the OB Dept. for 22 years. She really enjoyed those years at Bryan and loved being a part of bringing the lives of those babies into the world.
Della was a member of Indian Hills Community Church for 30 years and enjoyed learning in the Primetime Sunday school class and home bible studies. The last few years she started attending Heartland Bible Church.
Most of all, Della loved spending her time with her Family and her grandchildren, bringing the family together with her wonderful dinners during the Holidays. She was a great baker of cakes, pies, cookies and her famous Christmas coffee cakes!
She is preceded in death by parents Henry and Nora Nelson and infant son; Brother and sister in-law Dale and Marge Nelson of Lincoln, NE. and sister and brother in-law; June and Sam Jones of Cedar Rapids, IA.
Della is survived by her daughter Ginny Burstein of Eureka, CA. daughter, Carolyn (Carrie) and Dan White of Lincoln, NE; son Rick, and Carol Gloe of Lincoln NE; granddaughter Melissa (Aaron) Edington of Grand, Prairie, TX; grandson Nathan (Dana) Burstein of Eureka CA ; granddaughter Katelyn Wakefield, Omaha, NE; granddaughter Haley Gloe of Lebanon, NH; grandson Nolan Gloe of Virginia Beach, VA; granddaughter Maddie Gloe of Lincoln, NE; great grandson Austin Lacy, of Bridgeport, TX; great granddaughter Kylie Wakefield of Omaha, NE; great granddaughter Jordyn Burstein of Eureka, CA.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Della’s Life will be held at Heartland Bible Church on May 10th, at 11:00 AM; 2611 S 56th Street, Lincoln, NE 68506.
