Ann Carol Mallory

Ann Carol Mallory died on February 23, 2025. Ann was born to Russell and Doris (Glover) Mallory on Saturday morning, April 10th, 1948, in Erie, PA. She was the first of the five Mallory kids, and was followed by brother Marshall (deceased), Jean (Dittman/deceased), Chester (spouse Sue), and her “kid sister” Brenta Lyn. The family lived in Waterfield, PA and in early May 1954, made the big move to North Tonawanda, New York. Ann attended Wurlitzer Elementary School and graduated with the class of ’66 from North Tonawanda Senior High School.
In the fall of 1984, she met the greatest love of her life, Galyn Dowding. She always said she knew the minute she laid eyes on him that he was “it”. They married on April 13th, 2004, and she said repeatedly that it was the best day of her life. Prior to retirement, Ann was a word processor, employed with the State of Nebraska for many years and really enjoyed that work.
In late 2013 and most of 2014, she (and Galyn) waged a very successful battle with stage 3 colorectal cancer and won the fight! Ann named her colostomy Rosebud! A great big “thank you” to Dr. Green, Dr. Jobst and Dr. Hynes, the team who “killed” the cancer, “dead, dead, dead”.
Ann is survived by Galyn, brother Chester (sue), sister Brenda, Galyn’s daughter Gail, and his son Michael, as well as several nieces and nephews. She had many friends and acquaintances but kept the few people she loved very close to her heart.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no Memorial Service. Ann didn’t want anyone to weep or mourn because she has left this place, but to be happy for her because she finally got her wish to “see the face of God”.
