Linda Sue Hellerich

featured image

Linda Sue Hellerich, 83, peacefully passed away February 2, 2025 after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Linda was born to Paul and Coryl Hellerich on July 26, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska and was an only child. She attended Prescott Elementary, Irving Junior High, Lincoln High School and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Linda was employed at First Mid America Investment Corp, Ameritas Investment Corp, YWCA, Planned Parenthood and other nonprofits in the Lincoln community.

Linda loved traveling with friends and learning about new places. In her free time, Linda enjoyed gardening, watching movies, volunteering at Lincoln nonprofit agencies, and spending time with family and friends. Linda was passionate about cooking and indulging in delicious food. She especially loved her Valentino’s pizza nights with her grandson, Nathan.

Linda is survived by her daughter Sara Washburn (Craig Washburn), son Paul Tuttle (Shelley Swartz), and grandson Nathan Washburn.

Those who knew her best will cherish memories of Linda’s contagious laugh and joyous smile. Always quick with a sweet compliment for others, or a funny story, Linda knew the right words to say.

We will celebrate Linda at a service on March 7, 2025 at the Unitarian Church of Lincoln at 6300 A Street at 1 PM. If you would like to donate to the nonprofit of your choice in Linda’s name financially, or with your time, that would be a meaningful and appreciated tribute.

The service will be livestreamed here.

    Dear Sara and Paul,

Your mom was a wonderful friend for many, many years. We worked together, navigated divorce, single parenthood and the work world together and saw a lot of movies along the way! I think the family trips we took to South Dakota and Kansas City (Worlds of Fun) were great fun for all of us, too…good memories. And with those good times in mind…know that I’m thinking of you and sending love.

I worked in the Planned Parenthood clinics while Linda worked upstairs. She was always a joy and an inspiration. I am sorry for your loss.
