Jean C. Scott

featured image

Jean Claire Scott ( Perry) was born in Valentine, Nebraska on December 12, 1956. She passed away October 30, 2024 due to heart problems brought on by lung cancer. She is survived by her husband, Michael Scott, and her four children, Britney Lee Perry, William Soderstrom, Pamela Miner, and Eric Soderstrom.

Jean filled her life with love, all kinds. Her focused devotion to her husband and her best friend relationship with her eldest were the pillars of her heart.

She loved animals and had a special ability to bond with ill-tempered small dogs.
She loved hard work. No matter where Jean was employed she immediately stood out for her loyalty and dependability. Making new friends at work was easy for her.

She loved Nebraska itself. Living here most of her life Jean was a creature of the fields and the lakes, the wild flowers and the farm. She chose small town and rural living to to always be surrounded by and drive past what she found most beautiful.

Jean was a motivated person who never rested and was always ready for whatever the world threw at her. She is already deeply missed.

I was super sad to learn about your passing from your daughter: I know ya’ll didn’t have a relationship but I wanted you to know that I have some great memories of you from my childhood.
Especially the movie “Escape from New York”.

I Wish things could have ended better for you but I think you were happy.

    Rest in Peace

I was shocked to learn about your passing. “I can’t believe you’re gone.”
I’ll always remember your kindness outweighed most folks. You were such a kind person Jean and you deserved so much more and yet you never complained.
Even though we haven’t seen each other since our U-Stop years, we would always keep in touch. It was a couple weeks before Thanksgiving, I noticed you had gone silent. I didn’t see any post, you didn’t respond to post either. Then your Birthday came and still silence. You always say Thank you for Birthday, Anniversary post / wishes. So I started searching both of your FB accounts and no post from you since October 12, 2024. So I Googled your name …. My heart broke 💔. I found a simple obituary about your passing on October 30th, 2024. You were always a dear friend, not just to me but to many folks. Your non judgemental attitude, always willing to lend a ear even for a few seconds to hear someone’s concern / problem and make them feel heard /validated. Even when we would have long lines, you’d ask them to step to the side and continue to let them talk, as you continued waiting on other customers, trying not to ignore your customers in line as well. That was just how you were, always trying to be there for someone else, not saying a word if they were rude because someone wanted to tell you their story. You knew how to choose your battles and at times you just took the chaos behavior / ass chewing from folks who felt you didn’t give them your full attention, customer service is tough enough dealing with multiple personalities that you just get used to saying sorry, even if you weren’t in the wrong.
I’ll miss you, my dear friend Mrs Jean Scott. I’ll carry our friendship with me forever my Sister Friend. Always Me ~ Aloha ‘oe 🌺💚💔. 🥀 Rest In Aloha Tita 🙏🏾🕊️🤍🪽
