Carole Stella Etherton
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Carole Stella Etherton. Carole entered this world on December 11, 1945 and departed on September 7, 2024. She was 78 years old. At the time of her passing, Carole and her husband Jim were living in Lincoln, Nebraska. It was a recent move, made in December of 2023; a decision they made to be closer to family.
Carole and Jim celebrated 58 years of marriage in June. They lived most of those years in Grand Island, Nebraska, and then in Doniphan, Nebraska. Although Carole faced several battles with cancer and other health issues, she lived a life full of love and joy. She was a beloved wife, a loving mother, a cherished sister, a doting grandmother, and a good friend. Throughout her life she was a stay at home mom, a nursing student, a volunteer, and a long time employee at Bosselman Inc. in Grand Island.
We will cherish our memories of her. Her immediate family members include her husband, Jim; her daughters and son-in-laws, Lisa and Greg Katzberg and Mistine and Jeffery Mizerak; and her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Louise Sigona. She was the grandmother of Victoria (Cormac) Clogher, Alexis (Jarid) Freyermuth, and Madison Mizerak. Carole was also the proud great grandmother of Fintan James Clogher. Fintan was born in Ireland and Carole traveled with her daughter in May 2023 to Ireland to welcome his arrival. The two of them shared a special bond.
A funeral service will be held at a later date. Condolences can be sent to 6201 Normal Blvd, #124, Lincoln, NE 68506. Memorials are suggested to GILT – Grand Island Little Theatre.
