Bernard O. Bryan Jr. “Bernie”
Bernard O Bryan Jr. “Bernie” was a hardworking, car enthusiast, determined, well liked man, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
Born January 23rd, 1959. Age 65, Lifelong resident of Lincoln, NE. Bernie grew up tough, was in/out of foster care at an early age. He learned early in life how to work on cars, was a good mechanic, but found his work-trade in Welding. Former Capital Steel Welder/ Fabricator for many years, proceeded to take his skills to Cleaver Brooks as a Boilermaker. He credited an impressive 34 years at Cleaver. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and best friend to many people. Full of orneriness and sarcasm, was very determined to make a difference in the lives he impacted, many lifelong friendships he made.
Bernie shared the same passion “Dirt Track Racing” with his late wife: Rhonda Scdoris (Bryan). Together they Co-Founded Kids Night at Eagle Raceway. He Drove Stockcars and Sprint Cars for many years and then passed that same tradition to his son. He loved holidays and spending time with family and friends, adored his grandchildren. Enjoyed being a role model and became closer to those that were less fortunate in life and was the give your shirt off my back type of guy. He will be most remembered for his huge heart and warm smile. Bernie was a heart valve donor recipient and returned the giving favor as being an organ/tissue donor to honor those who saved him. His best advice was always “Work hard and you can achieve anything you want in life, don’t stop chasing your dreams.”
He is survived by his Son and Daughter in Law: Nick and Ashley Bryan, Daughter: Jamie Crouse, Sisters: Florence Stone & Carol Hoskins, Brothers: Jerry Bryan & Eddie Bryan. Granddaughters: Tailynn, Madisynn & Kendallynn. Grandson: Brexton and many others beloved as his own. He is Preceded in death by his Wife: Rhonda, Parents: Bernard Sr. and Florence Bryan, Sister: Nancy Bayless
A Celebration of Life will be held at St Luke United Methodist Church, 1621 Superior Street, Lincoln, NE 68521. May 18th, 2024, at 12:00 PM.

As the Celebration of Life of my brother-in-law Bernie fast approaches. I still can’t process his not being here. Bernie and I were not only Brother-in-laws but friends from an early age. Bernie you have left alot to be remembered and not forgotten. Peace be with you and life beyond those Pearly gates. You have more than left memories. R. I. P. Gonna miss you my friend already do.
I use meet at Capital steel. Rhonda an I would go on are break from Metromail. All the time.Bernie was always funny a nice. went our waysv And always kept in touch as good friedbut always stayed friends. He was a great to husband to Rhonda for 3 years the went a seen her everyday but i ok ne he told me. Guess he wanted to keep seeing her. A. Great dad an the best grandpa BO. . Bernie was a good man and a great friend I’m gonna miss him a lot because he helped me out with advice and car knowledge that still helps me today he was a hell of a sprint car driver I’m really gonna miss him I love his family and I’m sorry I’m not able to be there in this difficult time you guys are going threw much love and respect to the family and friends of Bernie Bryan
