Roger Lee Silver
Roger Lee Silver, 82, of Lincoln, NE, passed away Friday, October 20, 2023. Born October 12, 1941 to Richard and Dolores Silver. Roger was a loving husband to his wife of 59 years, Dianne E. Silver, and a devoted father to their three children, Chriscea, Catherine and Richard; “Grandpa Silver” also took pride in his grandchildren, Alan, Liz, Niki, and Jesse, and enjoyed several great grandchildren.
As a young man, Roger was a formidable athlete and successful building contractor, many Lincoln homes were constructed by Roger and his team in the neighborhood where we lived. At the age of 29, Roger was paralyzed from the waist down in a terrible accident; however, such a tremendous setback did not overcome Roger’s unconquerable spirit. Soon after, Roger attended business classes at UNL and subsequently became a bookkeeper and volunteer Income Tax preparer. Even in a wheelchair Roger remained quite independent.
Roger enjoyed visiting his favorite Lincoln establishments and was a well-received customer everywhere he and Diane would go- everyone knew him by name, whether it was Hy-Vee, Village Inn, or Don and Millie’s.
Roger was a great cook, good with numbers, and sudoku; loved the Huskers, NASCAR, and liked to drive the neighborhoods looking at construction and new developments in Lincoln. His goodness, fortitude, lightheartedness, wit, and wisdom will be sorely missed.
Services will be held at Calvary Catholic Cemetery 3880 L St, Lincoln, NE 68510 Wednesday, November 8 1:00PM.

Condolences for Roger Lee Silver
The staff at the wound & ostomy clinic got to know Roger well over the years. He was such a joy to visit with. Despite his challenges being in a wheelchair, he never complained. He loved his wife and family so much. A light has gone out here on Earth, but I pray it is burning bright in Heaven. Deepest sympathy to the family. He will be missed.
Roger was one of the best. I grew up with helping him and my dad as they did the construction projects around our house. He helped me in so many ways in seeing that no mater what life gave you, you can always overcome the obstacles that are put in your path. Rest in peace.
Our dad was a great man; I am proud to call him my father. Dad, you will be greatly missed.
