Daniel E. Pratt
Daniel Edward Pratt, 68, entered eternal rest after a long battle with cancer on August 31, 2023.
Dan was born on March 22, 1955 to Edward and Mary Alice Pratt of Lincoln, NE. Dan grew up in the Sacred Heart Parish. Growing up, the Pratt house was right by the church and had many visitors stay for evening meals and Sunday visits. Dan and some of his close friends, were the first guitarist to play for mass at Sacred Heart Church. During High School Dan enjoyed Cross Country and always seemed to end up helping his mother with some of her volunteer projects. Dan graduated from Pius X high school in 1974. In his freetime he also enjoyed speed roller skating and dirt track racing at midwest speedway and eagle raceway.
In 1983 Dan became a father to Casey Lynn and again in 1986 to Carson Elliot. Dan was married to Roxanne (Behling) Pratt on April 19, 1997. They were married for a wonderful 26 years. Dan retired from Pfizer in 2008 here he was a Maintenance Mechanic and worked in many areas there.
Dan always enjoyed playing guitar and was in many bands over the years. Dan played at many places like Little Bo’s and The Zoo Bar along with many other places and towns. Dan was a part of the worship team at Calvary Community Church for many years, until he was called to be involved in prison ministry at the Northern Lighthouse Church. Dan helped assist in running the Charity Autos Program for over 16 years, where he was able to use his mechanical and spiritual talents to help reach others as well as give back to the community. Dan always had the need to play as a part of the worship team at the Northern Lighthouse Church and rarely missed a Sunday even when taking chemo and radiation treatments. Dan was always determined to live life to his fullest and would not let the cancer hold him back. Dan was always known to share a few jokes with the nurses, staff and would always end the conversation with a heartfelt “God Bless you”. Dan’s biggest belief during chemo and radiation treatments was “This is in God’s hands, I don’t know why everyone is so worried”. Dan’s Faith in God was always big and he trusted that God was bigger than any of the mountains set in front of him.

Sending my Condolences.
I always admired Dan
Dan was a good man. When I first met him, I was an inmate. He was a member of the prison ministry church I attended. He never judged me. He showed me love as if I was his real brother. I always enjoyed listening to him play music at the church. He was a such a humble and caring human. We need more like Dan. We love you Dan.
Sincerely,
Eugene Butler III

Dan, you will truly be missed. I hope the Good Lord has many Peanut M&Ms for you! Sympathies to Roxie, Casey and Carson and other family members. Love you guys!
So many things won’t be the same without you around. Ronda and I have so many fond memories of the music we all made together and the joy and laughter we shared. You were a constant in our lives. Only a handful of us can proudly say we were among the founding members of “Pygmy Pony.” The few, the proud and the bewildered! May a Tenacious Moon shine forever on your memory. Save us a seat Man.
I first met Dan when he joined a small group, Charlie, back in the ’70s. Dan played lead guitar, I played bass guitar, Chuck Foley played rhythm guitar, sang and Chuck’s wife, Judy, played keyboard and sang. Later, after many band incarnations by both Dan and me, I encountered him playing bass in another band in the early 2000s. That band broke up and Dan had some health issues so I was asked to join in his place which didn’t last long as Dan recovered and re-took his rightful place at bass. Then, in 2022, Dan was playing bass with my old band, the Rockerfellers, but had to drop out temporarily for his final bout of poor health. He planned to return and the Rockerfellers were looking forward to it, leaving me precariously changing instruments. I always hoped Dan would return to better health but he never did. Both the Rockerfellers and I will mourn the loss of Dan’s talent. Sincere condolences to the Pratt family.
Dan, you will be missed here on earth… but till we meet again, rock on my friend.
Danny also drove for aging partners. Was always ready to help with whatever needed to be done. He put up a good fight. He will be missed.
