David Eldon Kuhnel

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Eldon Kuhnel, also known as Dave Kuhnel, on April 12, 2023, at the age of 66. Dave was born on November 15, 1956, and lived his life to the fullest until his sudden passing. He will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

Dave was a man of many great qualities. He had an outgoing personality, optimistic spirit, and sense of humor that brightened the lives of those around him. He was a caring and loving person, always willing to lend a helping hand. He had a proud and resilient character and was honest and outspoken. Dave was intelligent and athletic, with a happy and hardworking nature that made him a cherished member of his community. He was the glue that held his family together, and his nurturing spirit will be deeply missed.

Dave had a passion for hunting, fishing, and camping. He also enjoyed listening to music, taking long walks, and watching TV survivor shows. A cold Budweiser was always his drink of choice.

Dave is survived by his children, Amber Kuhnel and Travis Kuhnel, and his grandchildren, Austin Kuhnel, Autumn Kuhnel, Aaliah DeGarmo, and Christina DeGarmo. He is also survived by his siblings, Donna Kuhnel, Alan Kuhnel, and Diane Kuhnel, as well as his nieces, Adina Deal and Bailey Kuhnel, and his nephew, Brandon. Dave was preceded in death by his baby daughter Jessie, his siblings, Donna Kuhnel, Alan Kuhnel, and Diane Kuhnel, as well as his nieces, Adina Deal and Bailey Kuhnel, and his nephew, Brandon Deal.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Dave’s life and legacy on July 4, 2023, at Holmes Park in Lincoln, NE, starting at 10:30 am. The ceremony will include a fireworks display to commemorate his life and passing. For those who would like to join. Dave will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.
