Ronald Eugene Wise
Ron Wise Sr. of Lincoln, NE passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 30, 2022. Ron was born on August 10, 1941, to Earl and Marie (Hawkins) Wise in Beatrice, NE. After his family moved to Lincoln, he attended Whittier Junior High School and then Lincoln High School, where he met his lifelong love, Karen. They were married on January 24, 1960. They were blessed with three sons; Ron Jr., Randy, and Steve, and two sons born at rest; Jeff and Todd. Ron found his love for horses early on in his childhood, which led him to becoming a full-time thoroughbred owner/trainer in 1975. He spent the next 30+ years celebrating victory after victory with family and friends. Ron was always up for a good game of pitch and could never resist a sweet treat, even at 3am. Being around his family was his greatest joy.
He is survived by his sons: Ron Wise Jr. (Lisa), Randy Wise and Steve Wise (Asiya); Grandchildren: Jason Wise, Stacy Masek (Ryan), Jordan Wise (Kacie), Riley and Seth Wise; Great Grandchildren: Ainsley Wise, Harper Masek, Weston Wise, Nora Wise and Henley Masek.
He was preceded in death by his wife Karen, sons Jeff and Todd, Mother Marie, Father Earl, Sister Phyllis Schmidt, and Brother Don Wise.
A grave-site-only service will be held on Wednesday, November 9th, at 3:00pm, at Lincoln Memorial, 6800 S 14th St. **Please meet at Gate 2**
Reception to immediately follow at Lee’s Chicken Restaurant, 1940 W Van Dorn St.

I’m sorry for your families loss. Ron was a very kind man and I grateful we had a chance to meet. We even saw one of his horses race at his invitation. We’ll being praying for your comfort at the loss and the Joy of his promotion home !
My sincere sympathy to my Nephews, Ron Jr; Steve, Randy and their families. They have been there for their dad always and when he needed it the most. I know it was a tough road for Ron, but the pain is over for him. May he Rest In Peace surrounded by his family that went before him. What a a reunion in that must be!

RIP Ron. Ron was a wonderful man who would help young trainers learn about racing from. He is at peace now and will watch racing from his heavenly home. Prayers for his family and friends. He will be missed..
