Lyle L. Hunt
Lyle Hunt, 81, of Lincoln, Nebraska peacefully passed away on June 29, 2022 from COVID-related complications. Lyle was born on February 12, 1941 in Lincoln, Nebraska to Vernard Hunt and Arvilla (Nestle) Hunt. Lyle served active duty in the US Navy for 4 years. Upon returning to Lincoln, Lyle met Rosemary (Wagner) Hunt, the love of his life and wife of 57 years. For over 20 years, Lyle worked as a Xerox representative before retiring in 1994. His interests included camping and watching bull riding, and Lyle was an avid HAM radio operator. During his retirement, Lyle and Rosemary travelled around the country, enjoying the occasional job in places like Branson, Missouri and Estes Park, Colorado to stay connected and meet people. Their travels also allowed them to play and visit with family. Lyle would quickly endear himself to both strangers and friends alike. No one remained a stranger for long. The only thing Lyle loved more than meeting people was his unwavering love and dedication to Rosemary, his children, his grandchildren and extended family.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary; Daughter and son-in-law Deirdre Walton and Wade Walton of Lincoln, Son and daughter-in-law Jon Hunt and Claire Goldbloom of Portland, Oregon; Grandchildren Madelyn Walton and Mitchell Walton of Lincoln Nebraska; Grandchildren Eddie Hunt, Leo Hunt and Milo Hunt of Portland, Oregon; and Brother Wayne Hunt of Denton, Nebraska.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Isles Pub and Pizza social hall (6232 Havelock Ave) on Tuesday, July 5th from 4pm to 7pm.
