Many of us are environmentally conscious. We strive to lessen our carbon footprint and to leave our planet cleaner than we found it. Environmentally friendly biodegradable cremation urns, biodegradable urns, and paper urns offer families an eco-sensitive alternative. Biodegradable urns come in two basic types: urns designed for water burial and urns designed for ground burial.
Burial in water: Designed to float for several minutes, then descend gracefully to the depths where they will gently release ashes and biodegrade completely within about 24 hours. All the water burial urns shown are also suitable for biodegradable land burial.
Water scattering: Some styles can be opened so that some or all of the ashes can be scattered on the surface prior to placing in the water. All the water burial urns shown are also suitable for biodegradable land burial.
Biodegradable burial: Designed to be buried or placed outside in a natural environment where they will naturally biodegrade. Ground burial urns should not be used for water burial as they are not designed to sink.
Scattering: All designs are lidded so that some or all of the cremains can be scattered on the surface of the ground at a well-loved location. Ground burial urns should not be used for water burial as they are not designed to sink.
